Guest Expert in Platinum Magazine
I was really pleased to be a guest expert in Platinum magazine this month (February 2021). I was asked of ways to keep moving and
fit without using the gym. During Lockdown (Jan 21) this is something we all need to do if we want to keep fit.
Balance while cleaning your teeth
We all clean our teeth daily so why not add a bit of balance work into this daily routine as well. Standing on one leg whilst cleaning your teeth, not forgetting to change legs half way through. Not only do you have clean teeth but over time this balance work will have a positive effect, a stronger core and better balance. Which what ever age is something we should be working on to help us as we age.
Squat whilst waiting for the kettle to boil
How often do you make a cup of tea or coffee? As I write this I can hear the kettle being boiled! It’s a lot during a day. So whilst you are there instead of scrolling through your phone, grab a bag of flour or some tin cans and do some squats. A great way to strengthen your legs.
Combine that with your balance exercises and you will be able to keep doing the things you love for longer as well as keeping fit.
