Get Stronger: Run a faster 5K
We launched the Get Stronger: Run a faster 5K Course in January 2023. For runners who are stuck doing the same thing everyday with their training, not sure what they should be doing or want to run faster. Because we all have that desire to run a PB don’t we?
Even if we don’t, getting stronger is something we should all be working on as we get older so we can carry on running and doing what we love.
But where to start?
There is a lot of free information online, but how do you know you are doing it right or if the information is actually correct! Will you keep yourself motivated to follow a plan and stick to it. We all have good intentions when we start out?
This blog is about the course, why we are offering it and how by investing in you, you can learn skills and techniques to make you a better and yes a faster runner.
We wanted to show you that by following a plan for both running and strength you can see running improvements in your running and speed.
For example, the London Marathon provides a range of running training plans for the April Marathon. It’s FREE but the biggest thing they miss out is a strength programme to run with it. It’s around now (Feb 23) with the distances increasing when you start to feel those niggles and injuries. Check out my blog Why Strength training for marathon runners should be part of your training plan,
We want to take the planning and research away from you as we know time is an issue for all of us. Strength training is usually the first thing to be dropped when we are short of time but in fact it might be more benefical to drop a running day and do strength!
We want to be on hand to answer any questions that come up and keep you accountable so you achieve results in the 11-weeks.
